2. THE CABLING WITH UTP (UNSHIELDED TWISTED PAIRS).

1.) Essential aspects.

From the year 1980, the IEEE has been interested in the use and standardization of UTP cables for the transmission of up to 10 Mbps.

The standard was approved in 1990 under the name of IEEE 802.3i and is popularly named 10BASE-T.

For the use of the UTP-Unshielded Twisted Cable,
the 10BASE-T standard indicates the maximum Ethernet operating rate of 10Mbps, for a distance (segment length) of up to 100 m (practically:  90m).

For the functioning at the Ethernet rate of 10 Mbps, the cable must support minimum 16MHz.
